The FREEJUMP AIRBAG is a protective vest specially designed for equestrian sports to protect vital areas of the rider in the event of a fall. It can be worn over a thin layer of clothing (t-shirt, sweatshirt, or light sweater) or over a jacket.
France is the first country to adopt a standard regulating the manufacture of equestrian airbags as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). While awaiting European harmonization, the NF S72-800-2022 standard ensures enhanced protection by defining strict criteria for the protection surface, inflation speed, and impact tests.
The FREEJUMP AIRBAG is the first equestrian airbag vest to be certified according to this standard, reaching the required pressure and full inflation for optimal protection in just 98 milliseconds (for size S), thereby exceeding the standard's requirements. In addition to meeting safety standards, the FREEJUMP AIRBAG stands out for its ability to withstand horizontal impacts while also providing exceptional protection against longitudinal impacts along the spine.
The FREEJUMP AIRBAG offers optimized protection for the neck, back, lumbar region, sacrum, pelvis, and thorax. It considers the use of a certified equestrian helmet and incorporates a stabilizing neck brace to protect the spine and vital areas.
The protection for the neck, thorax, and back is tailored to each size, ensuring coverage of 24% of the chest circumference and 100% of the waist-to-shoulder length for the thorax, and 20% of the chest circumference and 120% of the waist-to-shoulder length for the back.
Lateral protection ensures perfect alignment of the torso, while the spine, pelvis, hips, and vital organs receive enhanced protection through two torso heights for sizes XS, S, M, and L, available in regular or long versions.
The FREEJUMP AIRBAG is crafted with silky Italian fabrics and perforated sides, offering exceptional comfort and ventilation. Its fitted cut and design with flexible materials ensure optimal protection and maximum comfort.
The safety cord is equipped with a textile loop to avoid noise when in contact with the ball cord’s carabiner.
The FREEJUMP AIRBAG vest is designed to be worn both over and under a compatible jacket. The NF S-72-800-2022 standard requires an official compatibility test by CRITT for all jackets worn over an airbag. The FREEJUMP AIRBAG vest has been tested by CRITT, ensuring its compliance and safety.
While awaiting a possible update to the standard during its European harmonization, FREEJUMP guarantees that all jackets certified to NF S72-800-2022 and compatible with airbags from other brands are also compatible with the FREEJUMP and PÉNÉLOPE AIRBAG vests.
The proper functioning of the FREEJUMP AIRBAG is guaranteed with any compatible jacket, as long as the cable exits from the bottom of the jacket (and not through a hole specifically designed for it).
The FREEJUMP AIRBAG vest is also compatible with models developed by numerous other equestrian clothing brands, including: PIKEUR, VESTRUM, PÉNÉLOPE, KERRITS, JUMP’IN, STRUCK, SCHOCKEMOHLE, EAST, TOMMY HILFIGER, VISION APPAREL, GEM, and CAVALLO.
The FREEJUMP AIRBAG is available in children's sizes S and L, and adult sizes ranging from XXS to XXL, with two options for sizes XS to L: regular or long (indicated as "T" in the size) to provide a perfect fit, even for tall individuals. For example, size XS in the long version is labeled XST.
Children's sizes S and L are suitable for kids weighing at least 25 kg and measuring at least 130 cm. Starting from size XXS, the FREEJUMP AIRBAG is designed for individuals who are at least 1.45 meters tall and weigh a minimum of 35 kg.
